From Alt. 74 in Shelby take NC Hwy 226 North, We are approx. 17 miles on the right.
The property is located on the First Broad River. Dredging is allowed up to a 4 inch dredge. There is a large New Highbanking Area on site for Common Group operations or for single user operations.
They have bags of gold bearing material for sale from $25.00 on up. You can pan them here or take them home with you. There is a very nice indoor panning house that is screened in (Joe's Ore House).
For those who like to camp in tents or don't need any hook-ups, you can camp in the primitive camping area down the hill next to the panning and sluicing creek for only $8.00 per night.

For those who would like to bring the children, there is a nice playground area for them.
And if anyone gets hungry (and who doesn't) there is a new Snack Bar, built in 2005, (Sloppy Joe's) open on the weekends.
There is a new Bath House, built in 2003, that is wheelchair accessible.
And if you get your clothes dirty, and you will, there is a laundry room with washer and dryer.
There are future plans to build a Supply Store and put in a swimming pool.
